We interviewed our new OSHC Coordinator, Simone Cunneen.

How long have you been working with children in an OSHC setting?

I have worked in OSHC for two years, but I have been in the Early Years Education Sector for over twenty years as an Early Childhood Teacher and Director. I am a passionate educator and strive to provide children and families with a fun welcoming space where they can enjoy their experiences and a sense of community.

What is your favourite part of your working day?

The favourite part of my day is welcoming the children in the afternoons, being updated on their day and all the important things happening for them.

What are you most looking forward to about taking on the team at OSHC?

I am most looking forward to extending all the fun experiences the children are offered, so that they feel engaged and enjoy their time at the service whether it is daily or once a term.

What are you favourite things to do on the weekend/when you’re not working?

On the weekend I love heading to the beach with my children and dog. On the rare occasion of bad weather I quite like a good Netflix binge. I also love to cook – my husband is Italian and we do amazing bolognese and tiramisu.
