A superhero is dedicated to fighting crime, protecting the public and battling super-villains. This week at Columba Cottage our friends dressed as superheroes to support Bear Cottage’s mission to “lighten the load for children with life-limiting illnesses [because] some children need heroes, some need superheroes”.
Bear Cottage is New South Wales’ only children’s hospice which is dedicated to caring for children who have life-limiting conditions. Superhero Week raises funds for Bear Cottage, to provide support to families as well as respite and end-of-life care for children.
Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Superman, Mr T and Mario were some of the many costumes that children came dressed as. During the week, the Platypus friends reflected on who their superheroes are. Ivy decided that her Mum is her Hero, and Asha’s Dad is hers. Anotida decided that his educator, Ana, is his hero!
