    Early Education Educators (Qualified)

    Columba Cottage ELC is an Exceeding rated service that is looking to go above and beyond for children, families and staff. We are on the grounds of St Columba Anglican School and function as a member of the SCAS school community whilst operating within our own context.

    Already an “above ratio” service, we are redesigning our approach to health and wellbeing and improving our staff-to-child ratios to ensure we are able to spend quality moments with the children in our care. We are also improving our staffing model to ensure maximum “off the floor time” to develop programs and refine pedagogical practice, and taking action to promote cultural connections, child wellbeing and prevent harm.

    These new positions are an excellent opportunity for flexible and creative early education qualified people to join our team and grow their careers.

    We’re looking for Educators who are:

    • Strong in their knowledge of children’s development and able to respect young children as capable, involved and self-initiated learners.
    • Experienced and have the ability to work with a diverse team of educators.
    • Interested in professional development to grow their early education career and skills.
    • A community-focused person willing to ensure positive relationships and interactions with our early education community.
    • Excellent communicators.
    • Strong in their knowledge and understanding of the NQF – NQS, Regulations, and Learning Frameworks.
    • Creative and flexible whilst being professional.
    • Understanding of the importance of being an integral part of the school and the local community.

    • Hours are permanent part-time or full-time.
    • The shift structure will allow you to have a strong presence at the service working directly with children and provides time to be “off the floor” to develop your program and professional practice.

    • Additional Management Committee Granted Leave over the Christmas/New Year service closure.
    • A supportive administrative team who assists Columba Cottage teams and operations.

    • Opportunity to participate in either a 19-day month or 9-day fortnight currently being negotiated.

    Columba Cottage is a not-for-profit service that offers Early Learning and Outside School Hours Care services. We are part of a modern and expanding whole school community with access to great facilities. Our large and diverse educator team accesses a significant budget for professional development and learning resources. We also receive support from visiting allied health professionals and a supportive and progressive Management Committee.

    Pre-requisites:

    •  Relevant Qualification: Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services,  or relevant ACECQA-approved qualifications, including “working towards”
    • CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk – Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain
    • HLTAID012 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain
    • WWCC current Working with Children Check.
