Katie moved to Port Macquarie from Sydney when she was in High School and has not looked back. Now a parent of 2 boys herself, Katie loves building connections with the younger groups, getting lots of cuddles and watching the children learn and grow.

Katie is an outside girl who enjoys going to the beach and spending time camping with her family.

As an experienced Early Childhood Teacher, Katie can’t choose just one favourite book –  she loves The Gruffalo, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Very Brave Bear.

She is always seen smiling or laughing and Katie’s funniest stories all come from what the children say. “They have the best stories!”

Katie’s experience enables her to guide, direct and mentor other educators and she believes in the importance of the early years as the foundation for future successful learning. Katie aims  to form trusting, loving attachments with the children in her care.

“I love my job. I love the educators I work with and the children become part of my extended family.”

Katie believes in providing support, encouragement and affection to the children as a nurturing environment helps boost a child’s self-esteem and also provides a sense of security. After having transitioned her previous group of children through to pre school, Katie is excited to be back in the Koala baby room for 2020.
