Shaleisha is our Kangaroo Room Leader for 2021. Shaleisha has been an educator at the Cottage for 9 years and loves having group discussions where there are opportunities for the children to express their opinions. Outside of work Sha enjoys spending time with friends and family and enjoying her weekends by the beach.
This year the Kangaroo Room is working towards developing independence as children prepare for Primary School in 2023. This includes building resilience, raising confidence for childrens’ voices to be heard and putting their ideas and thoughts into practice.
It has been a breeze settling the Kangaroo friends this year and Shaleisha says they are so ready for the next step and change of environment. The Kangaroo Room has started the year by learning about being safe in our community, discussing beach and road safety and the importance of our emergency front line workers.
